A little surprising. I guess apple need to look once again at the 'form follows function' design ethic, and realise that there are only so many receptionists that need computers at home ;)

Another site seems to disagree with this article:
http://www.thinksecret.com/news/mwsf03cpus.html
"Of much speculation included new, lower pricing on existing models, new models with faster processors and the addition of Bluetooth, the demise of the 15-inch, flat-panel iMac, the addition of a 19-inch, flat-panel model, the end-of-the-line for the 15-inch display and the addition of a 19-inch display."
"Only the top-level 17-inch, flat-panel G4 800MHz iMac with 80GB hard drive and SuperDrive are such great demand that more units are in shipment to distributors from Apple in quantities over 1,000."
They are both rumor articles both with speculation, so take both with a grain of salt

Sheesh, Array!
Are you informing the public, or are you trying to stoke another flame war that you're gonna have to later close down?

no, i've just been somewhat frustrated with apple and Steve Jobbs lately. Certain moves in the industry, and sub-par processing power make me somewhat biased against what could otherwise be a great alternative for me. OSX rocks!

Yeah, I'm curious to see what January (Mac World Expo) holds for the faithful... If Steve doesn't at least propose a solution to the slower processors, he may end up with a bunch of "switchers" going the other way!
Fingers crossed, cuz the rumors inevitably just make me sad...

What amazes me is the amount of hope that springs eternal for the Mac folks.
There is always something better that's going to make a differrence just around the corner or next season. Go back throughout the last 4 years or so and you can witness the same type of comments,
"curious to see what January (Mac World Expo) holds for the faithful"
btw, I own a collection of over 8 Macs form the early 128K unit up to a Modded G3 and after experiencing the crappy video card support I jumped ship and never looked back. Other than to get a good chuckle that is.

they best they can possibly hope for is something on par with regular x86 PC's today, which is just the least I would expect as a user, but they will still be more expensive and have less software support for ages to come

I'd love to see OSX running on dual AMDs!
