Hi everybody.

I have here a newly created piece here that i've made mostly in photoshop. Originally, i
made the Egg in xsi+zbrush which i placed toghether with some jungle terrain i wisped up
using some reference photos from adobe Bridge and so on..

But now, i put one large gaussian blur ontop of everything and started re-detailing the
image aaaand since i'm fairly new to this particular area of painting, i though i'd ask for
some advice and critique on how i should push the image further to keep myself from
dropping the painting completely, which i often do.

So, here it is before i gaussian'd it. it´s really large.. i'll resize it, if necessary.

It's really messy, but i kinda liked the concept and the composition.. and also the colors.

Then, for the present painting, which now goes by the name of "Trespasser" as i thought
that there would be somekind of alien egg lying around in the jungle.

details are emerging

now this is a common stage. it's usually right about here that i dump the painting, cause i can't quite figure out how to go from here to a crisp, sharp, image. How to sharpen it up?
i have no idea. i'll keep going until i break.

I can't figure out what exactly your painting is about.
Looks like it's a bit out of focus :)
Making it more sharp ? Well.. just take a more fine brush and put some details ?

thanks for the reply.

motivation? well! it's in the middle of the jungle, early morning, and there's supposed to be an old egg from space or whatever. The egg has been lying around for so long that it has been turned to stone, or something :D with a lot of moss and shit and whatever. but quite frankly, i'm just trying to sharpen it up now that i've improvised my way this far, and, i don't relly know how. it's at about 3200x1400 and a smaller brush for more detail is veery time consuming and i figured, there has to be a better way. that i haven't found yet.

maybe they should implement a function in photoshop like "the good looks-button", "press here for better results"
