all plants were modelled with Xfrog 3.5, rendering done with Cinema4DXL (2mio poly´s, 30minutes at 2048*1536).

That's really beautiful. I like all the detail. The only crit I would have is that all the plants are standing up too straight. Put some more variety into the way the stems are angled and it will look more natural.

Very beautifull, only crit: The trees on the back should not be so sharp, maybe add some more depht of field?

great image.

now i use xfrog make my works, but xfrog's animation is too
complex to use it,Could you tell me how control its keyframe?

thanx for the hints!

@xinraylife
actually keyframing works like in most other apps. with doubleclick on the timeline you can add a keyframe and every parameter you change (while this keyframe is active) will be stored.
The only problem - there is only one timeline....

@coCoKNIght
they are already out of focus, but because they are near to the camera (in contrast to the hills in the background) I did not want to blur them to much.
But perhaps I will do some more tests, because I am thinking of using this scene as environment for a fantasy charcter - if I have time :)

Walli

Yes depth of field is the way, the foreground stuff is to sharp.

how did u make the textures........ tell me :)

don't tell me xfrog does all of them aswell :)

..more and more I feel too that the foreground is to sharp.

fter seeing the finished the rendering, I wanted to sharpen it in Photoimpact, but now I think I should have leaved it "original".

DOF is a little problem - because most of the leaf´s use texture with alphamap, DOF won´t be calculated correctly in Cinema4D (because the DOF is a post effect - one of the last weaknesses of Cinema4D).

The textures are scanned, handpainted or procedural - just what worked best ;) .
In most cases I used combinations to get more variations.

as most of the critable items have been mentioned, Id just like to say I really like the scene and the render, reminds me of a place that I fly fish at. I think when an image/render can envoke an emotional/memory response, then I feel that the artist has acomplished something.

Great work.

The thing I see most besides the lack of the Depth of Field is the fact the lighting seems wrong. It should be warmer like summer, not like it's on a soundstage somewhere.

Hi Walli! Nice to see you here *addToBuddyList* :wavey:
Your pic is great. If you want to avoid probles with the DoF, I'd suggest just to use a sharper background image and a wide-angle lens. This should solve the problem, I think, for a small amount of DoF is (even in Cinema 4D :p) possible to achieve without too much alpha-map problems ;)

Greetings,
XerC

looks good. I wouldn't change the DOF anymore. Cameras can vary from having everything sharp to only haveing a small area in focus.

However it looks like there is a cliff right beyond the fence. Mainly because there is so much foliage in such a small area and then nothing.

Hmmm, Hi erstmal ;)

Just my two €.

yes, I would have to agree that it looks like there is a cliff right there. I'm not sure if this is the effect you wanted.

Walli
01-08-2003, 07:08 AM
..the landscape makes a drop of about 10 to 20meters, there you´ll find the trees in the background (some kind of pinus).

after that the landscape "falls down" to a valley.

so in fact it is a cliff and the hills in the background are far away..

best,
Walli

P.S Die Berge? Da kommt die Sonne von links oben! Exakt wie im Vordergrund beim Baum..

Ask you one question, your image size is 120k,but
why I only can remit lower 40K size.
could you tell me the reason?

because he is most likely hosting the image from his site.
