You need to loosen up the modelling a bit more. right now the shapes are too basic volume-like and not organic enough. The stomach/back looks like a lathe shape, the pecs like extruded squares, the arms and legs are perfectly cylindrical, the fingers are all the same length, etc.
Now you have the basic proportions there you should work on making him more like an organic creature- refine a bit more on anatomical lines. Even if you don't want detail for its own sake, it will give the guy more character.
some areas look too simple they are loosing definition: the nostrils look strange and the top of the head looks poly/d or chopped off.
I'd also play with the proportions of the head a little bit, maybe less concave, flatter and more froggy. Shoulders could use some work too.
You're off to a good start: for a lot of things you may find that tweaking points rather than adding geometry is the solution. thin arms and legs are also easier to animate, so its a good choice for an early model.
Some aspects of the model are really nice. I like the shape/curver of his mouth, You spent time getting some depth to his eyes, and the webbed feet is a good touch.
enough crits for you? ;)
I'll post later when I've seen the animation..
