another lovely landscape.

I have been to Berlin and visited the "Alte Nationalgallerie" which is dedicated to traditional German artists among which two especially impressed me.

- Caspar David Friedrich, my favourite landscape painter who used his compositions to connote divinity and included characters contemplating the view and the landscape to pull the viewer into the painting.

- Karl Friedrich Schinkel, whom I had not known before and who wonderfully used a delicate lightning to create compelling atmospheres (like in the following example which was exhibited there, http://www.artrenewal.org/asp/database/image.asp?id=26762)

I am referring to them because your use of light, your idealized landscapes reminds me of them and I am waiting anxiously for what will happen when you include characters into these compositions...

i really appreciate u taking the time out to see this and for submitting such a nice feedback.

LATROMMI-SUINEG...i did consult a few refs of landscape and beaches when i was making preparatory sketches for this, before painting.

Mu...what can i say now, uve written names of two of most brilliant landscape painters of the past. Caspar David Friedrich and Karl Friedrich Schinkel. Casper David's work i really admire. so good to watch always. i would specially like to mention 2 more names here, they are Nicolas Poussin and Claude Lorraine. great artists from the history, they produced some brilliant landscape paintings. the composition, architecture, light, mood, the whole setting is awesome. i still enjoy paintings from all the above mentioned artists, whenever i go thru them. thanks mu, for mentioning the big names here...:). im really happy if my paintings remind u of their work, a big thing for me indeed. and yes thanks for adding some forumspeak as well...:). always nice to have u here Mu.
