View Full Version : texturing problem
Scott212 01-02-2003, 07:14 PM I'm not sure why this keeps happening, but when I apply some textures to the uv map, I get a viewport that says something isn't right. Please tell me if you can find the problem. Ask for more information if needed.
sorry the quality sucks - trying to get it small enough to post

"something isn't right" funny, never seen that error before :)
are you trying to use multiple uv maps?
Did you do your texture mapping on the back yet?
well the first thing I would do is create a shader for the back, select all the faces of the back and apply that backShader to them. I am guessing that is what you did and it didn't work? Maybe do a delete history and/or cleanup on the object. Duplicate the back faces del history/cleanup. Make sure theres no border edges/that all the vertices are properly connected.
That kinda stuff.

thanks for your response, but I haven't got anywhere. I'm trying some other options (whatever I can think of).

wiered - i have the same problem and just thought about posting it
although it renders fine it seems like there's no shader assigned to the outer shell (except for the label)
one polygonal object - 2 UV sets

Scott212: To answer your question about the funny lines showing up on your model, its because there are no UV's on that area yet. Just finish projecting all the faces and they'll go away.

you are all very right - I just left out one important detail that I thought was commonplace. I was using uv sets for the individual projections. A big thanks goes out to Mike at mtmckinely.net for spending at least 3 hours with me figuring it out!
