How to make a snake?

Tutorial Number 31, in the tutorial book that comes with max, has a snake in it. Not only that but also IK with it.

It shows you how to animate a snake. I mean, the model that comes with it might give you a rough idea on how to model a snake.

if you are using max 5, look into spline ik. another option that could work just as well is the path deform modifier, which is in versions of max earlier than release 5 too. with path deform you can draw out a spline path and have the snake. move along the path.

yeah i would use splines as well
max comes with a sample scene of a Creature type thing done in splines
should give you a good idea how they work
C:\3dsmax5\scenes\Characters\Meshes

just a note: Xilica you actualy did ask him if hes using pirated version

hay thanks guys I'll check it out...and to answer the Q about the wirezed versions...haha well here at this place where I work we get any kind of software we need (legeal) ofcourse :rolleyes:
Its juts installed on so many machines, I have little idea where what is...But thanks I'll try it out.

are the tutorials in the help menu?...i cant remember...if not i thought they came on max5 cds, but then these may be in the same place as the manuals
