Hi,
This (http://hhive.homedns.org/mattes/NZ_matte.html) is one of my first attempts at matte painting. I basically looking for feedback on how I can improve this. I'm still starting out at this stuff.

Thanks

hi flangust, well first you have to know what you want to do or improve in the original photo, with rough sketches, and after that star collecting reference photos, always work with real photo reference, once you get it think of a plan ,

if you want to do this an overcast day , try working first with color correcting the image
use curves, color balance, hue and saturation, levels etc if you can't get the desired effect with just this , add some textures from other photos , integrate them with the color correction tools, and later try painting those highlights
for the background mountains I suggest photo integration as well , try some tutorial here , I'm sure those will be very helpful

Thanks, I know the coloration is kinda funny looking but I liked it at the time. This was really just a test of what I am capable of, having never really painted in Photoshop.
But thanks for the suggestions, I'll give them a shot.
