Title: WW2 Jeep
Name: Simon Joyce
Country: United Kingdom
Software: 3ds max
This is a model of a Willy's jeep from WW2. I tried to make it as accurate as i could using the reference material available.
When it came to texturing it i decided that there was just too many spotlessly clean CG vehicles around so i went for a dirty, well used look.
I have spent longer on this model than any previous work in my relatively short 3D life, and hopefully that shows.
I may go for something cleaner next time, but then again.

Great job! I love the dirt, the only thing would be to add dirt tracks on the "Studio-floor" :) or put it in a real environment! You can't fail to put it in a environment since it looks so great!

The axe handle looks bent, it was the first thing that caught eye on me :P
Otherwise great job :)

Looks absolutely fine to me. :) I love the tyres. Nothing to crit, except maybe the glass, it looks like two square holes. I know, sometimes it's so hard to make it catch a light glint :( Maybe some squashed bugs on it? hehehe...

Great job on your Jeep and congrats on bringing it from WIP to a final render. It came out really well....and really looks like it has had a hard life in the field.
Great one!
Love the textures!
Keep up this way!
Would love to see it in an environment! :)

I agree about the glass. Why not try mudding it up and make them look like they've been wiped by the wipers? Sounds funny, but I'm sure you know what I mean. :D
Other than that, looks excellent!

I like the model a lot. My only crit would be... the materials for the parts all share the same luminous, diffuse, specular, and reflection. It makes it look like a toy made from a single plastic mold. Good start.

thank you all very much for your comments. They are all welcome.
Ironically, through the course of making this the most comments i received were concerning the amount of dirt on the windscreen.
They all said it was too dirty, so i cleaned them up !;)
Anyway i've learnt a lot from this and i will put it to good use in my next project.
here are some other views of the jeep, including one with the hood up.

The extra detail like dirt in the wheels brings it out well. Superb modelling too.:arteest:
