chepe297 01-02-2003, 04:25 AM Hi Everyone
My brother just finished my online portfolio. The site is at ziggwi (http://www.ziggwi.com) .
Please click "Pete" under the gallery section to see my work. Most of the work are done in 3DS MAX 4. Comments and critics are welcome. Thank-you all.
best regards,
pete
p.s. By the way, flash 6 player required :wavey:

yes !! that's a pretty cool site you have there !!
.... the only problem i can see is about the time of loading.. i hate to wait ....
and try to be more abjective in what you do. As you are looking for a job... try to place clearly the fields in what you can work on !!
But for the design, navigation and general information it's quite good for me !! Keep it up !

pretty cool site. :bounce:
My question is...what's this site for?
I mean, to show your 3D works? or Flash? or..??
I'm asking this since I personally believe anyone who looks
forward to see some 3D works would get bored so easily
while watching this cool flash animation.
cool site anyway~

fred_bock - thanks for the feedback.

I recently decided that I wanted to get into character animation instead of modeling, texturing or lighting. That's what I am trying to concentrate now... do more character and creature animations.
neversong - Thanks for your time! :)

You mean the 3D works are boring? Yeah... I know, some of them are kind of boring. By the way, I am not into realism images, but stylize and toony images for two reasons. I like to keep my models simple because it's cheaper to animate. The other reason is that I don't have a powerful computer.
Thanks for your comment. :)

Yes really nice site and some good work but I dont like the wait time may want to speed it up a tad bit. And the music from the site is a bit annoying sorry:shrug:
site need to be faster...could do with some more work, possibly more original stuff

Null_Object - Thanks for the advices. My brother is the site designer and he is trying to work on it now.
halo - Thanks for your c&c. You mean more original stuff with 3D work? or the Flash design? or overall?
neversong - Oh! Sorry... my misunderstanding. Thanks!
no the flash thing is okay, but it just slows the site down, its almost style over content...if your trying to promote your folio then imo you want people to get to it and see it as fast and easily as possible...at the moment its a bit of a journey to get there ;)
what i meant about more original work is that it seems 1/2 your work is derived from yoshi or mario (i'm assuming that they're in your part of the folio)...these may be work you have done as a job, but it comes across slightly as just copying existing artwork or ideas...your skills seem to indicate that you could do more, so i'd say show more and more original or less derivative stuff...perhaps if there was more work then it may not be so much of a problem
depends on what you want the folio to do really, if its to get a job or commisions i'd say it need more pieces, if its just to say "here's my work" then its ok :)

halo - Thanks for you time. There are only two images of "Super Mario" out of a dozen or so. So I think there isn't too much unoriginal work. One of the main reasons that I have them in my portfolio is to show people that I can model things accurately if given a conceptual drawing. One other reason is that I think they look pretty neat that I wanted to share them. Thanks again Halo, for your comments and critics. :scream:
ah...i just found those arrrows at the bottom slide.!..i've been clicking them! (like normal window arrows)....so i thought u only had 4 bits of 3d...now i can see the rest and yes, i think its ok with what u said :)
perhaps the interface needs to be more idiot proof ;)

lose the flash
it screams n00b
as in, "i don't know my audience."
ok, maybe thats a bit harsh, but, its a serious distraction. i clicked off the site after viewing only 2 images
