View Full Version : text deformed by curve, how to "off" the path?

Hi,

I have a text following a spiraling path (with a motion path and flow path object). This works nicely. Is there a way to select sets of letters of a word, and animate these outwards from the curve itself, like the words explode away from the curve in blocks of letters.
The entire text is separate letters anyway.

I'm trying to find if there's some kind of offset that looking at the normal of the letter/word so I can use that to move away and rotate.

anyone on this if this possible??

This is probably not the way you want to do it. But off the top of my head:

Bake the animation and edit each key frame...yuck

Why don’t you just group the letters and flow path only the group? This will free the transform nodes of the letters from any connections and make them available for secondary animation. This is a very basic principle of animating and you can create as many groups as you like to nest an animation into animation and so on. In fact if you find this easier, you can create the individual letters animation before attaching all of the text to a flow path
