Hello everyone,

Just to help with the mini challenge I spent a few hours creating some interesting and varied terrain maps.

They are in two resolutions and are for use with Image2Mesh, the Errosion plug-in or as displacement maps.

They are:
Alien terrain
Alpine valley
Detailed flats
Easy terrain
Hill range
Hill side
Hills and valleys
Mordor crags
Mountain range and valley
Mountain range
Mountain ridge
Mountain side
Rocky terrain
Sand dunes
Spikey ridges

Enjoy!!

Thanks Evant.

I have updated the Zip file, it now includes maps at 800x800 for the very brave amongst us.

The readme has also been updated with a step by step guide on how to use the height maps with the erosion plug-in.

Cheers,
Ian

Thank you Ian !

I adore height maps and used to do a lot with a tool called Cybermesh in the good 'ol days :-) Question : is there something missing in the Readme where it says at step 7 : "Change the ..." ?

Regards, Bert.

Does it? Haha, I must have been in a rush :)

I wrote that in my lunch break so I must have run out of time...

I might mean: Change the terrain resolution to match the resolution of the map you have added (512x512 for example). Erosion will tell you this anyway if it detects a mismatch.

Sorry about that! :)
