Ive got Max 3 and im trying to render something so it looks like its a screen grab from a computer game.

Games characters dont cast shadows on themselves, nor there weapons. There lit differently. The shadows are circles for trees and player models. Angled lines are jagged.. anti-aliasing (sp).

How can I make my scene look like its a comp game screen from say the unreal tourney engine?

thanx for any help

Could you do the shadows as mapped planes, then just take a screen capture of the viewport?

Just untick antialiasing in the render options and apply a non-black ambient light. For shadows, assign a black plane under every tree and character about the size of its largest reach and give it a heavy feathered circular opacity map.
