at this moment, not bad, the biggest task is before you, use a Zbrush to make this object real.

I think it is coming along alright so far but my major advice/crit would be to work more on the general shape and less on the details for now. I think you need a more flowing form. No need to put in scale detailuntil you are happy with the shape. Try applying a black shadr to the model and just worry about getting a readable silloutte (sp?) out of it first.

oh also try to design your creature more from the inside out. By this I mean decide on the bone structure and model from there adding muscles definition to support the bone structure and then skin to support you muscle structure. Of course I mean this purely figuratively. It is just a good idea to have a functional design before you get into the modeling. You don't need to know everything before modeling but consider its functionality.

As another Adam, I'll echo what the other Adam said :)

When sculpting, work on the overal general form, in its most basic representation, and then build upon it by refining further until completion. Its generally bad to focus on one spot too long or else you imbalance your work and you can get yourself stuck.

So start by fleshing out the entire shape of the body in very simple forms. Dont even worry about subdividing it yet. Just keep it quad and capture the form and flow.

so you say that the model is bad or cant animate it

That would be difficult to animate. I HIGHLY recommend that you save your time and do several tutorials to learn how to better organize your geometry. I was once like you, I wish someone would have told me to save my time and improve my skills rather than invest time into a detailed project without understanding the tools and geometry better.

What program are you using? This might have been answered, but it wouldn't matter too much. Also, it saves alot of time to know what you're creating before you sit down. If you have a concept sketch or reference pictures that helps alot. I used to think that really great artists model without references, but they got really great by using references. Noone starts at the top.

Keep up the work and enthusiasm. Increase your knowledge before investing more time into modeling. That's my advice. Let me know what program you're using and I'll give you more specific help.

Here's a link, this is not necessarily the best way to model but it's a start.

http://mr2k.3dvf.net/tutorials/max/tutorials_joan.htm

Look at some of the stuff on www.3dtotal.com go to their Free Stuff => Tutorials they have some modeling tutorials.

What version of Max are you using. I use Max too. I think it's pretty fast and solid work flow. You seem to be doing alot of extruding and beveling. Alot of that detail that you're adding to your model can be represented with textures. It'll save alot of render time and it will make for a cleaner model.

Good Luck :)

I shouldn't be telling you not to do things. I mean you're still practicing the tools and you're not gainging new knowledge, but you're increasing your speed. Also, are you modeling in Edit Mesh or Edit Poly?

I'd like to see how far you've gotten.

Salvatore
