Just blocking out the shoulders, I have very bad refrence on this area so i'm just getting the parts in and then moving em to shape, right now his collerbones are through his neck! lol I broke mine so i can't use both of em for refrence but I think i can get it from memory :D
(updated picture :D Coller bones are getting closer to the right place :D lol )

Hey Bitmap that's a great start. Hard to crit anything now, maybe the chest muscles are a tig to small, in the Y axis I mean. Good luck mate, waiting for updates. Greetz

Hmmm... that's looking rather stylised, as opposed to realistic... I'm not really sure what kind of look you are going for, but if you are after an anatomically correct model, you should check out some good anatomical references before you continue.
You are certainly on the right track, it's just that some areas here and there need to be tweaked somewhat, especially areas like the rib cage, and the way that it meets the rest of the abdomen.
Your model is also looking a wee bit too blocky, which you should try and eliminate. The human body is a wonderful bunch of curves and contours, so try and work those into your model a little more :)
My best advice to you would be to check out some good anatomical sites, such as Fineart.sk (http://www.fineart.sk/), as well as stuff by the great masters like Michaelangelo and Leonardo. Also, it helps to do extensive sketches before modelling a character, as this helps you to figure out your form before you start the process of building it.
I can see that you have a good grasp on your modelling tools, now it's just a matter of developing your sense of form and shape :)
Good luck
I'm with leigh in every word....well said:applause:
Keep working on it Bitmap and lets see how far you get on this..

also, for such a well sculpted and muscular body, the stomach needs, for lack of a better work, the shape of a "six pack"

i'll do what you said leigh, and about the boxyness, I think its becuase i've not fully pulled the body around into a full shape, It was extreamly flat but as i make the back and connect I see it rounding out...
anyways Heres what I have of the back so far, I'm going to continue adding detail to the spine, I think it definatly needs some tweeking, I know it isn't right but i'm not exactly sure which polys to pull yet, I'll get it though don't worry folks!

progressing slowly. Dissapointed that the usual no replies happen to my thread... oh well!
The line where the ribcage meets the abdomon look strange to me..maybe make it a little less defined...does that make sense..good model though...keep um comin:thumbsup:

bring his "pecs" down a bit... like don't make them so short... if that makes any sens... they don't extend down far enough, or stop too high up... bah im terrible with words
also that little, uh, god i dont know how to say this... that upside down U accross his chest looks too defined, or too big of a depth change, or something, rofl...
if any of what i just said made sense, i want a cookie!!!

and i've lived in texas most my life, not like i'm a foreigner, i just don't know what those parts of the body are called, i was just checking a reference and they looked odd... i'd give u the link but my comp crashed cuz it's ghetto and i don't remember where i was :thumbsdow
but yeah it looks good, great modelling, keep it up :applause:

just bumping as i've updated shots 8-9 (the 2 last shots) with a current render.
The line going down the center of the back is a bit odd...the abdomon muscles still need to be fixed too...I don't know what it is...but it looks fishy to me....keep going:thumbsup:

this is a very nice model so far... :)
plus, i agree with the other comments about the pec's if your looking for a realistic look, but its looking nice and stylised so (personally) i would leave it... but that me just aint it :)

Here are some pics that might help your anatomy. They might be small...does anyone know how to post larger images?

If you have a website you can link it. Or you can mail it to him. Man, I'd love to get it in much larger resolution, too, if it's ok with you :)
Thanks.

The book is called Arnold Schwarzeneggers Encyclopedia of Modern BodyBuilding. I think it just got reprinted too, with more photos. Here's another pic...still working on that link.
