View Full Version : Pepeland need you help! One Short, Two Musics. Vote!
pepeland 04-18-2006, 02:13 AM One Short, Two Musics. Vote for your favorite version!
"Changes " my the last short film, and I need a little help!
I was looking for music to be the soundtrack of the short, then I found two pieces that really fitted it.
As I couldn´t choose which one was best, I started to work using both versions. Today I still haven´t chosen one.
Even when I ask family and friends, I find that half of the people absolutely prefer the first of them,
and the other half are completely sure about the second option. The point is that I like both of them,
so finally I have decided to upload the two versions, and let the people choose which one will be the final version.
You can download and vote in www.pepeland.com (http://www.pepeland.com/) or http://www.daniel3d.com/pepeland/animata/changes/changes_poll.htm (http://www.daniel3d.com/pepeland/animata/changes/changes_poll.htm)
Thanks :)

Hey
Wow, GREAT short! This short has the whole package; great story, great animation, unique style... Very, very cool!
As for the music.
I like the 2nd music better overall, since it is more dramatic. It also has a sad undertone which I think fits perfectly to the mood. However, the music doesn't build up to the blue guys big snap... Music doen't mach his jumping on the briefcase. I am also not thrilled about the big drum parts of that music. If you could place the drums where you would want them, maybe but they seem out of place sometimes... But the lighter tones match perfectly to the introduction of the blue guy!
The 1st version is a bit to happy for me.
Well, good luck on your vote.. :-)

hey Pepe -
I have to totally disagree with Simon (Sorry Simon)
I thought the lighter music was a great fit for the mood of the story and blended nicely. The animation was very much on cue with the music and it had its swings at just the right time for the story. Very good idea.
I wish I had to only worry about which music I was going to add and not about the animation itself.
5* from me btw.

Great short.
I personaly enjoy the second version more as an overall tune but I think the first one fits the animation a little bit more. I voted for the second one though.

sweet job man; i really like this. overall, number 1 gets my vote althought there are places in the short where parts of number 2 would fit just great (tantrum scene, for one) and i really thought the final cut on beat with number two is a great touch (i sent you a comment on the poll, excuse the repetition)
really, really nice work.

Another vote for the first one, the second didn't work at all for me.
Great, great job!

Hi Daniel!
I think that the second option would fitt better on a more dramatic story. Since the message of the short is not so dramatic I preffer the first option. some people says that it is simple and it repeats itself so that´s why I think it fit perfectlly with the story.
A usual, great work with the animation, the story and the characters. I love the character face of "this is not exactlly what I wanted" hehehe
Congrats again Daniel!
The short is pretty good. Both music seemed to fit well with the short although the second music didn't hit right with the mood on some end parts while the first has a variety of tones that generally do well for the mood of the short as a whole. The lighter music of the first is more enjoyable for me to relate with the short than the second. Also, the way you allow the credits to appear according to the tempo of the first music is really appealing. Therefore, my personal preference would be the first as my voting choice.

Hi,
first can i asking you wich soft did you use to animate the characters?( i think it's 3ds max but i'm not sure)
For me the 2nd one is better because:
*It is not looking like a loop track (the first does)
*It's completly fit with the movie
and i love the idea, the animation is like always, very very beautifull and you have your own style, i love that
good chance for the future

The script is really impressive and the look is very nice.
I prefer the version 2 cause is more dramatic.
But it´s a very difficult choice. Both songs are amazing.

Hey daniel. I love your new short! You are from the few people i'm looking forward to see more animations from. And this one made my day again! :)
I like the second music as its more dramatic, but i think the first music fits the atmosphere of your animation a bit better. Its kinda sad that the animation doesn't somehow synchronise with the music beat that much, but thats ok. Its still a great piece of work! Looking forward for more! :applause:

I voted for the first one (because it better matches the animation timing), but in all honesty, I didn't particularly like either of the songs. They sound very synthetic and have no acoustic depth. It's like Yann Thiersen music without Yann Thiersen. He uses repetitive patterns a lot, but varies them ever so slightly, it breaks monotony and keeps your ear open.

Yeah I think I prefered the first one, I really like the character, very expressive face and nicely animated, the only thing I didn't like was the big reveal moment felt very similar to a shot in the pixar short for the birds.

First of all, I have to say fantastic work. It's a great short from conception to execution. I don't think you'd go wrong with either verision.
With that being said, I like version 1 better. I think it's more up-beat and light-hearted which is more in line with the feeling of the short. Also, I think the timing works better.
I watched it with NO SOUND and loved it!
I might add I've come to expect nothing but quality animation from pepeland. Congratulations and I hope your school is very successful!

Hola Dani!
Very nice short... as always! :) , the blue character´s expresions are quite funny and the storytelling is just perfect.
About the music .. I prefer the first one, but I think it need some FX-sounds and sometimes music has to stop, for example when he stops and start to jump on the handbag, adding those things the viewer will get more involve with the tale IMHO.
Anyway! the short is brilliant and very well done! :)
...and a question.. for how long did you work on it?
5 stars from me!!

A huge fan of yours here...
Great work as always!
As for the music, for the time being, im gonna view it in mute to learn the animation part of it.. hehe.. so it doesnt matter much in short term for me.. as of the shortfilm itself, I think the first one fits.
Keep churning out great stuff! and if you can, please make that spanish pepe-school-land to english.
Thanks for all those great little animations that u have on ur site.. I learnt a lot from them, not to mention the inspiration they roused in me..

Great little film! :)
I liked the first one best - the music seemed to fit the story arc better and I preferred the upbeat feel it had, as well.
Very nice work, Daniel. The expressions are great and very nice short story. Personally I liked the first one. To me, the music suggests a happier tone to the overall story. The white guys just ended up copycat blue's style but doing what they were doing all over again. So the music gives it a "This is how it works, you can't change it...Sigh" kind of bitter and abit overly sweet kind of story. At first when I saw the blue guy started to jump on his briefcase and the others just watched him, I thought the rests were going to jump on theirs too and going "Screw this! We have to change!" But that would perhaps puts the story too linear. Anyway, I think a break or abit more serious tone to where blue goes crazy would be a great add. Keep it up!

Awesome short!
I agree with the majority, the first one is better. In my opinon, the music in the first one really helped tell the story, while the second one was just there during it. And I just think it fit with the cutting and events better.

I prefer numero UNO!! the music seems to be more interesting for me compared to number 2 which kind of depressed me  and also with the 1st animation the timing of the music goes well with whats happening in the animation, the walk cycle and the reaction on the characters! well done with the animation, keep at it!

Version 1 fits well with the light-hearted, stomping on the bag sort of scenes and version 2 fits well with the monotonous marching scenes.
Isn't there a way you can combine both of them to use them where they fit in?

Hi Dani!
First of all...for me the VERSION ONE it´s better than the other, because it´s on the style short, just perfect.
About the short, man, I think always you have a high potential, cool character, cool postproduction, cool animation, but on this short I like very much the expresions of the character, they really transmited me his feelings, and this is very important for me.
So, waiting to see your next work!

Nice animation, nice character design too, I love the UPA touch :D !!!
I don't like both of the soundtrack though, i think it will be nice if the animation could sync with the background music that you going to use. I just think it will add alot to a short piece like this one.
Its just my opinion :)

Nice work and very emotional character(s)!
it's really a hard choice, both versions have completely different moods and both songs
fit great. but I tend to version 2, because I find it more touching in concert
with the story and you matched the music a little more "detailed" to the animation and cuts.

I'd go with the FIRST ONE, no doubt about it... when he gets mad in Version 2 and the guys stare at him à la "for the birds" it really didn't work for me as well... The first track is very playful and fits in at all times IMHO; starts off giving a routiney feel with the boring monotony that's conveyed in the story, then serves it seems to become ironic and contrasty with the main character getting mad, and finally it settles down again when everyone applauds him and it starts over.
I really loved the story and the music in Version ONE really warmed me inside :)
Saludos de un CICERO ;)
PD: Por cierto... si no es mucho pedir, a ver si nos cuentas dónde encontraste estas piezas tan bonitas...
PPS: Now that I think about it... I think version TWO has more of a dramatic power, reminds me of some 'American Beauty' pieces... oh, but the thing with the credits going with the music in ONE is so cute... argh! I FINALLY understand your fustration! Best of luck...
MY FINAL DECISION IS "VERSION TWO"
Are these royalty free tracks by the way? I'd really love to know more about these tracks... if you're at liberty to say, of course... :)

I voted for number one, just because it was more light-hearted and went with the overall style in your ani. I just have to add that just after the blue guys trys to calm the other ones down the rightmost grey guy tie is flickering red/grey. Im sure you've must have seen it...not sure if Im making any sence here...anyways good work! Both were fantastic in their own special way :p
Awesome animation.
Both versions are very good but I think the first version is a little better.

great short, i preferred version 2 , the music seemed more apt...the regimented rythm of the cello(was it a cello?? my music knowledge is crap) suited the uniform marching of the characters - but the first piece was nice too, its not often the same edit suits two contrasting scores so well

04-19-2006, 12:13 AM
I watched them both and originally thought the first was better, without a doubt, seemed to fit much better in mood and timing.
I then looked at the 2nd a few times, because always with things like this, I am always biased to the first one I see. After watching the 2nd one alone a few times, trying to reset my mind, then flipping to the first, it seemed the other way around. For me, different versions of the music were stronger in parts but weaker in others.
Obviously both versions give very different undertones to the story/message, Since both versions 'fit', I guess it's up to you what you want to convey.
Not helpful I know, so If I would have to choose one it would have to be the second, but only because I respond well to heavier stuff (matter of taste). I could easily go the other way, I can definitely see the appeal of the first version.

Hey Dani, congratulations, very very nice short!!! :applause:. I think he looks a lot like you! :p
I like a lot the blurry color effect, is it render effect or is it post production?
I prefer the second version, the changes in the music happen with the changes in the rythm of the animation and it for me it has a mechanical feeling that fits better with the story.

an excellent short, I espically like the flick of the tie over the sholder
The music: if I had to choose between the two it would be the first one. I prefer the industrial start of the second one more, but it never went anywhere, nor did it climax when the blue guy loses it (which would have added to the emotion). I like the way the first one matches the end credits though. Can't you mix the two together? start industrial, go all happy after his little episode and end on a high?

I vote for the second one,
but...
why have you chosen a continuous theme for the music, Daniel? I think it would be better if the music changes with the mood of the scenes; for example when the blue character cuts the queue and starts jumping...

I don't think the first one goes with the animation very well. When the guy gets mad it doesn't change enough. The second piece captures the mood of the animation much better I feel. I really think you should go with that one.
Kudos on the animation btw, excellent style. I love the noisy texture to the whole thing.

Version 1 seems to fit (for me at least) better. I can see why you might consider 2, but it's very down and depressing. The light hearted soundtrack of No.1 goes well with the nature of the film.

Your short animation is very fuuny.I really like it.First it is difficult to choose, both of them are very fantastic. I prefer the second one because it fits the characters movings.their steps I mean, and I want to say; usually music is as important as the animation but this time it doesnt make any difference at all.Reason is two of them are fit your animation I think.Good luck.

hi daniel... sweet shortfilm and great animation. I really liked the first sound track, but after listening to the second one I can see why it would work. Maybe someones already suggested this, but I think it would be great to hear both of them in your film.
I would suggest putting the second sound track for the first half, cut to silence when the audio climaxes on the 'tie pop' and stomp on his briefcase, then continue with a fade in with the 1st sound track when the others peer around each other. On this fade in i would continue where the sound is originally placed for the first sound track.
Hope that wasn't too confusing. I think it would bring more of a dramatic hint and give the audience some variation. Also the silence while he's stomping would create anticipation for what's next to come.
Great work and I look forward to seeing the final outcome.
Cheers :applause:

I think there is additional bias towards version 1 on this thread due to the fact that version 1 is played first.
You watch a NEW film with version 1 music, you watch a film you've already seen when you get to version 2 music.
After watching both, version 1 seemed better...but upon going back and watching for a second time, version 2 is definitely better.
Great short man.
I would say version 2 is better, but for me version 1 seams closer to the on screen action.
So my choice is...... version 2 I think... lol

My opinion is that it can only work truly well with both. Edited together. Because the first one is light, and suits when he is being praised and the second fits the march. It sounds very much like the same musician, can't this person combine the two?

04-19-2006, 07:52 AM
Great work. Very well done!
In regard to the music I'd recommend trying a mixure of both soundtracks in different parts of the story.
The music of part 2 for example perfectly fits the machine-like marching of peons to work (beginning/ending), while the music of part 1 beautifully emphasizes the relief after breaking the routine and the congratulation scene thereafter.
I know it's not easy to merge both pieces together seamlessly for they are really different from one another. But maybe this is just a hint in another direction?!
Have fun!
EDIT: Oh, TAMcCullough (member.php?u=197950) already said something similiar, so I'd love to fully second that!

04-19-2006, 07:58 AM
My first thought was exaclöy that of Lowkey. Try combining the track for the differnt parts of the short.
The first upbeat verison makes the film easier to watch but you don't feel the impact of the theme as much as in the second one.
As it stand now I have a hard time voting since my favorite will differ as much as my mode over the day. If I want to feel lighter and want a joke, the first one is my favorite and if I feel a bit more serious, the second one is the best. For the most part I think I like tha second one more though since there are a bunch of easy shorts out there and it is nice to see one with a bit of weight.

With the music i would vote for the 2nd one though it has to be retimed a bit. But to be honest i don't like both so i missed that third button of choice. They sound a bit too much like royality free elevator music and don't contribute to the character and style of the whole thing.

Personnaly I would like to say that the 2 version was pretty good, but I think that the second was boring and fined rythmed (kind of military music) as need for the first part of the short ( after applause ) and the first one would be great for the second part of the short, because it's more happy... You should balanced your music between two part maybe, and leave an eloquent silence at the middle of the short too get more dramatic and funny reaction !
I vote Second instead of the first because the end was not the end as the character wanted ;-) so bad day for him. bye and good luck.

:wise: Version one fits the character and the mood....and the Mundane Theme in your story. The second one has drama...yes. But it doesn't change for the snap nor any climatic highs. And the first one has more omph to your character's character.

Great. As always, what I love the most is the simplicity of the idea. Fun to watch, beautifully animated.. it has it all :)
More than choosing a vesion, i will try to compare the two.
- The first one sounds more "animation" like. Fun, cute, fits well with character design. I think it works very well. And I love the way you synchronized the credits, something I miss when I watch the second version, heh.
- The thing about the 2nd version is that it fits more with the whole idea of the short, I think. Helps understand the feeling of monotony, etc, because it is a march. It adds a greater sense of concern and interest, while the cuteness in this case is given by the animation itself, and feels like there is more contrast. Bad thing is I'm not sure I like the way it ends (it cuts suddenly, maybe not completely natural) and may turn slightly reiterative at the end.
Anyway, forf both versions, the fact that the music doesn't stop or change its mood during the whole short, gives it an interesting sense of continuity that makes it more original somehow.
oh, I've noticed the lack of motion blur, what's the reason for this?
Enhorabuena Dani, un saludo!

Wonderful animation! Really great!
As for the music, to be honest, neither one does the animation justice. They are both ok but neither strengthen the piece.
Music shouldn't be something that is added in or layered on as an afterthought.
I would strongly suggest having an orignal piece composed that suits the film. THe music should shift with the emotional changes of the main character.
Neither musical piece accomplishes that.
I know it can be expensive to create original music but maybe you can get a a student or recent grad to donate their talents for a portfolio piece.
If you want to stick with the two choices you have presented, I would go with #1. The second piece is better suited at the start, but when it doesn't change mood, it is very noticable. The first one just sort of plays on unnoticed which is the lesser of two evils in my opinion.
Great work as usual Daniel. A good concept that was executed perfectly.

The second track works better I feel, because it creates a connection between the sound and the visuals.
At the same time I do feel that that link gets lost as soon as the little blue man goes bezerk. It would have been nice if a heftier kind of music would take over, communicating the outburst audiowise as well.
Now it feels like the march goes on soundwise while we its being halted visually.
my two eurocents.
Wonderful animation! Really great!
As for the music, to be honest, neither one does the animation justice. They are both ok but neither strengthen the piece.
im agree with Slurry, anyway the short animation is awesome and fits this school of thought that say less is more. I like this "haiku" animation...(- + -). The elegance of the simple things.
Best Regards.
version 1 has a more comedy touch while version 2 sounded more inspirational...
I go with version 1
but you might want to look at the red ties turning white, I noticed it happened twice, one of them is around the first 1min 14sec...it keeps flashing and it disturbed me, good work anyway

Very good Mr. Lara.
I like the overall feeling and the character is so emotional even though he has subtle movements. Very good acting here.
About the mucic:
I fell for nr. 1 the first time I saw it and I have to say that I still do. It also looks like this is the music you intended to use when you created it. The second one is an attempt that isn't that well thought through compared to the first. It fits the animation better.
Nr. 2 gives me an equilibrium feeling and a "corporate bastards" feeling. This fits the mood, but not the animation the same way nr. 1 does...
Soooo. My vote went to $vote[0] ;)

Muy bueno Daniel...me gusta muchísimo. I think the cameras, editing, and post-production style add a lot to the animation. Nice work.
I already voted on your site, but I'll repeat it here that I went with song number 1. I think it's a nice rhythm for the animation...more upbeat. The 2nd song just is so repetative...a little tiresome, in my opinion, and it's very, very cinematic.
Nice to see another animation by you finally!
Good luck with the new animation school, dude!

hahha.... well done... as it seems... even the posters here are split down the middle...

First one. But both doesn't fit the entire short.
There should be some editing done.
A more serious and dramatic music on the beginning, then a lighter music after he freaks out (like the first version)
And something for when the character jump and go crazy. (to me, even complete silence when he go crazy would be better then no change in the music at all)
I like this short, even if i'm not a big fan of some of the fast cut, and have some small critics about the animation (like when the character walk at the end, every step he takes the pupil get lost in the head)
And great design for the character too, kind of remind me of la linea (http://www.koreus.com/modules/news/article2466.html)
good luck with your school!

Awsome short.. I'd have to say number 1 is more fitting and thats what matters most.. You're style is a bit to cartoony too fit the sad tone of the second song.. And the silly parts don't work with the second song ( for example the 'for the birds' shot when the characters peek out from behind the guy in front).. It is a tough choice tho I think musically the second better.. You should just wait and use it in another short..
good luck thanks for sharing!!

Great short! I prefer the first one as well, because it felt animated to that music, but I don't mind the second at all. I feel like you shouldn't let a poll decide what to go for... just try to think about what you wanted to tell, what you tried to get accross with this film. If you went for comedy, then it's the first one all the way. But the charm in the second one lies in how it feels like a social criticism. It feels like you're saying that everybody always follows the hypes, nobody thinks for himself anymore. You just have to decide whether you wanted to say that, or just wanted people to laugh.

Great work !

Hola Daniel,

Hi Daniel,
i read something about this in a spanish interview before, it's great to see the finished short, great idea and execution :)
i definitely liked the second version better, i think it's because the beats worked better for me the way you cut the short to it. i think the first version is too mellow for the plot
there's one thing that bothered me. i think some of the faster animation shown in close up 'strobes', you know like a fast movement animated on 2's in classical animation, the eyes have a hard time connecting the frames into a flowing movement. i think you really need motion blur for these sequences. i'm watching on crt monitor by the way.

Hey, great short. Very clever idea, I liked it! When they were applauding and the one guy nods as he puts the tie on his head, I don't know why, but it made me laugh. Good job.
As far as music, I have to say I don't think either really fit. The reason is the emotion in the animation changed, pretty drastically, and yet both soundtracks stay the same the whole time. It really felt off to me in both versions how there was no change in the music when he blew up and jumped on this suitcase. Have you considered having a friend creating music just for it? Or doing it yourself? I know that's not easy whatsoever. I'd tell you which one I liked more but I don't think I could choose, both evoke a different emotion, and I think you should choose depending on what emotion you want.
Seems from the posts here, 1st one is heart warming, and 2nd is dramatic.
But the animation and story were really great, I like it a lot.

HI Aearon!
I must say that the idea is truly inspired by a comic strip of "Quino" a Argentine drawer, is one of my favorites!
About strobe effect, is true, I was searching a "hard" effect, but may be it´s too much.

Pasa Dani,
Very nice idea, I love the realisation, rithm, animation and all things, really. I agree with You this is the first piece that You can call "Short film" cause this litle idea is really telling a story. Is´nt easy to tell a story only in a couple minutes is common to fall in the gag formula. I would like to see all of them breaking the line or so instead of go on with a little change (the tie on the head), but this is only a point of view I don´t want to be critic with the script because the important thing is that We can understand exactly what are You saying here, and is a very good metaphora.
Other thing that I would like to highlight is the resources optimisation, You´ve used the same cycles and the same character in almost the whole short, and works perfectly.
About the music, if I have to choose one of them I choose the first version, but dude, surely now is very late for this but, I think as more people here that Your shot would have more dramatism and would be stronger if a musician compose a custom music for this short, cause both of them seems like a song over it, not as an element to help to tell the story at all, I dunno if this cause much sense....
- GREAT short film mate.
Un saludo,
Ivan.

Wonderful animation.
Well done.
I hate to say this but I don't feel like either audio clips tell the whole story of what you have going on here. If I had to pick I would say number 1. 2 is too dark for the entire short.
Preferably, the audio would start out more like number 2 at first, then as he becomes the hero it could morph to more like number 1, then ending with more of a quirky poppy version of number two as he finds himself back in the same hole he was at the beginning (like number two but with a little more humor). All this said knowing that I haven't the slightest clue what I'm talking about and I'm guessing you might just want to be done with it all :)

I love the short. Great story. It communicates very well. I personally like the 2nd piece. The music fits the monotony better and the tension it creates builds nicely to the characters explosion. Cute short btw
I loved the animation and the story. I loved everything.
I voted for the first version, but I may have voted for the second version if it was shown first. I also agree with wesware's comment that it would have been nice to change the music as the mood changed in the story. Start with the second version (more moody) and somehow end up with the first version (more upbeat) towards the end.
In any case, fantastic work, as always. :)

A lot of people seem to be categorizing the second track as a gloomy depressing tune. Personally I feel that it conveys the drama of the situation much more whilst version one, although seemingly more attractive almost falls into the 'animation genre' of music, and that's why I find V2 more fitting.
The piano tune in V2 subtracts from the monotony of it all and makes it all feel like a piece of advice to me, a reminder if you will that one musn't fall into this sort of thing. The track as a whole comes over me like a little ray of hope.
Now, I'm not sure to what degree Daniel is trying to get the message across in this case, but I think that if that is the point to this short, the second piece is more heartfelt.
My 2 Euro cents...
Cheers
PD: Also, I don't take to the idea of mixing both tracks at all :hmm:. While it may seem viable, even though they're both very different, I honestly think they don't go hand in hand in a piece like this. The contrast IMO is just too drastic for a short this... short :D

Congratulation, it's a good short film.
I voted for music 1, I think it's suits the film better.
However, something bothers me, I think there's something missing. Adding some sound fx would probably help, maybe you we're already planning to add some? Maybe some busy city sounds and some footsteps and some "voices" to the characters...etc...
If you do, I'd say during the main action of the movie you should lower the volume of the music a bit and raise it at beginning and end of the movie. I don't know why but to me, at it is right now, it's sounds a bit annoying at some point.
Anyways, congrats again!
Everything else is awesome, especially the animation, it's amazing!

Hey I like it very much , better than all of the old jobs !
But about the music , I think you have a good story + good technical stuff + .... So I think the music should be at other parts level .
I think both choices (1&2) have advantages (we all know it!) but I think you can't mix them to get a perfect one (they don't match) , So I say the best way is to get a NEW original music to compose for yor short with some sound effects (maybe).
That was my 2cent , You have all parts , don't miss this part ;)
Sincerely

I didn't like the first one. It's seems off beat to me and it's too lighthearted especially for the opening. I like the second one much better because it had a marching theme to it.
Problem is the scene changes and the music in the second one doesn't change when things get more lighthearted. So I don't think either works for the whole animation but they both work in part.
The first track would make a good transition for the second half of the film (pivotal points) and the second track is good for the first.
The march beat should go into a pounding when he beats down the breifcase during his breakdown to a silence. The first track should slowly pick up where all the men are sharing at him (piano keys to eye/head pops) and in agreement with the changes in the uniform (clapping to key cycling tones). I think the first would work well especially when they are all happily walking along. Then it should end up in the same mondane marching beat of the second track by the time he's begrudging his plight again.
I'm not a musician so I don't know how to make the chord changes.
Great animation btw. Never had to think about that. No crits there.

Hi danial
i like ur work very much . i don't know why .....but i feel everyday interest to seeing it
and i like version 1
Nice short. Watched it over and over again.
I really liked the second version (piano) where there is a bass-line which fits with the line of characters walking. In the first version (guitar) however, I appreciated the lighter tones, and especially the sync of end credits.
I have watched a mix of the two versions and I always pictured the part where you see the line of characters walking using the second music. Where the blue guy gets upset and breaks the line, there the first music would be appropriate, especially when the queue starts clapping their hands (applauding).
As soon as the queue starts walking again, I'd switch back to using the second music.
That's just my opinion.

hey Daniel!
funny little animation, good character and great animations. i voted the first one because i thought it fitted best for the overall of your animation. even though i think the second one, worked best in the beginnig (more dramatic).
so the perfect solution imo, would be a blend between those two:)
oh! btw. i kinda looked like there where a render/comp fail in the middle of the animation. one of the cheering folks tie, is flickering ( -the red color disapeares for a few frames)
can't wait for your next animation:)

Great animation and the idea is cool as well!!
How about going without music? Only heavy foot steps(that could be kinda music), some sound effect, pretty enough.
Sometimes we just music it for music...u know :p

I Think the audio(s) are not so good as the video.
The video is really very good. I love the animation and the character.
I´m not a sound specialist, but I think the music needs some "changes" in some specials moments. Maybe a silence... To break the thing... like the rebel guy does.
I don´t know. But anyway...
Congratulations! We all love it

Ei Dani, fantastico corto!!!
I like the script and the mood, and of course the great animation.
And for the songs..... the first one would be my choice without doubt. The second one fits well at the start, making the story more serious and dramatic, but I think it doesn't fit at all when the first reactions start.
Again, congtratulations for this gret job!
Victor.

Music2 is better suited for the beginning (downbeat). Maybe a switch to Music1 (upbeat) can be made when the climax comes and everyone starts cheering the main character?

Hi to all!
First of all, thanks to every one for the comments and suggestions, really help me.
After two weeks of votes, the first version win with a 76% of votes, so the first version will be the final version but I´ll make a better adjustment between music and image, the 80% of comments talk about that.
btw I´ll fix some bugs in render
I think that better solution will be to make a custom music but I don´t want to open another "creative" process in this short, my mind is already thinking in the next one
