hello to all here...... I'm glad I found this place.

here's my question to all you out there...... I generally model in acad......just cos I've done it for years and I know what I'm doing in acad. what I'm looking for is how to optimise the model in max.......if I import the dwg file straight in I can work on it...but its huge......if I 3ds out and then bring it in its much smaller....but changing things is a pain because everything is together.

I saw something about modifying things to polys......is this the way to go ? And if so how do you go about it. personally I'd really rather model in max....but I'm finding it difficult to adjust to.

any suggestions from you peeps out there would be appreciated.

happy new year :wip:

go over to www.3dbuzz.com
make an account and goto the downloads section and download the edit poly video cd tutorials

i use to never touch polys cause it jsut had so much stuff and i was use to editable mesh

but thanks to that VTM i have been able to clean up my meshes easily with edit poly

its worth a look
