The realism isn't quite there yet but very close and a very pretty picture!

Thanks to all. I know it seems a little unrealistic but i couldn't figure out good settings for the HDRI and Indirect illumination in vray and so there are some black spots here and there. :banghead: But i have so much going on right now that i decided not to put more time in this.

Here are some more renders with other settings and wood material.

man... so far all the good renderings i have seen are done in MAx with V ray? is it really that good?

i am still have a bit of a hard time with Maya and its Mental ray!

Well I'm using max cause that's what i've learned from the beginning. Maya is a very good package with some good modelling features and other advanced stuff but max is generaly easier. Mental ray is realy good and acurate and calculates everything with real physics but that's what makes it complicated and hard to set up opposing to V'ray that is more simple to set up with realy good GI and Reflection Refraction options. As for results I've seen Amazing stuff done with V'ray and Mental Ray.

yeah.. that is basically what i think too. But with the merged of ALias and Autodesk, hopefully Maya will learn the good stuff from Max and vice versa.

Yeah very nice! I think the low angle lighting is a little distracting because it draws attention to that over-bright edge on the bottom. And I do have to say the wood grain bg is a little cliche. Great attention to detail! Great job, keep it up.

wow, thats a beautiful render dude!
I got a player similar to it, and it's a very good representation.
clean cut, and simple, which makes the shot effective

Thanks for the good words. Too bad i lost the headphones so i didn't have them for reference to model them.
It does a realy good job for me cause it has no extra buttons and stuff that make things complicated. I wnated to model something simple but with detail in the texture and lighting. The red led is actually a small sphere inside with self illumination.
