Hi,
Im wanting to add a CG element made in 3DS Max 6 into some live footage. The footage contains a tilt, which was pretty uneven. As far as I can tell, there is no easy way to track in Max 6 other than hand-doing every frame (is that correct?). This has lead me to pretty poor results. I have access to After Effect 5.5, so I was wondering if I could do the tracking in it.
What Im not sure about, is the basic steps invloved in the process. This is what I thought was the process (but please correct/comment):
1. Import footage in After Effects + track shot.
2. Somehow import the AE tracking data into 3DS Max and apply it to a camera
3. Make the scene in Max, then render with the live footage as the environment
Is that correct...? Im just guessing about Step 2 as I have absolutely no idea about how to do that.. Can anyone please suggest the proper method for doing this fairly simple shot?
Thanks a lot,
