Ok guys I'm trying to get more opaque type glass with the lglass shader and I know about the opacity slider but everytime I use it the glass becomes almost clay like.....not like opaque glass at all. What sliders can help me get that effect of colored opaque glass? Thanks in advance for any help.

I don't know just, but I'm just bumping this up so someone might answer. We really need to tackle this quickly, if anyone can help us out on this issue that would be great.

Can we see some examples. To see what u mean with opaque type glass???!

Here is a good example....I've tried everything with the Lglass including glossiness, opacity, etc. but I always have transparency (though with the opacity slider it tends to become metallic for some reason) or opacity without great speculars anymore. I just cannot find the magic combo and thought somebody might have slipped upon it. I've found a halfway decent fake fix by just extruding a lambert color that's smaller than the outside glass. But I'd rather get the correct look with just one surface.

Not sure if the l-glass is the right shader to be used for this kind of material. I think it would be easy to achieve this look with a blinn or phong (mr or Maya) shader and a HDRI map.
Something like this?!:

i also think that blinn or phong with some sss are better than the l_glass schader for this material.

http://img297.imageshack.us/img297/972/test5tz.th.jpg (http://img297.imageshack.us/my.php?image=test5tz.jpg)

the base material is a blinn shader with black color, low eccentricity (0.07) and a high spec roll off (2). reflectivity is 0.15. the reflected color is connected to a env_ball. in the incandescence slot i plugged a misss_fast_simple_maya and a misss_fast_lmap_maya in the mr light map slot of the SG.
i placed one spot light without shadows and a grey enviornment color for the camera.

hope this helps.

slipknot66: Looks pretty good. We might play around with that.

Urmeli: I like the blue one alot, the red looks somewhat clay like or even metalic, but that is definatly a step in the right direction.

The red one looks metalic because it has colored highlights. Would look much more ceramic/opaque-glass like with white or less reddish highlights.
