CGTalk - Penumbera angle affecting MR area light?

View Full Version : Penumbera angle affecting MR area light?

I just come across this today, I have a spot light attached with MR area light, if I set 0 penumbera angle I get lots of sample artifacts, if I set a number say 20 the artifacts are completely gone. with only 6 sampling on area light. Anyone know the reason for this, is this how its suppose to function?
