Title: Fire and Ice
Name: Daniel Staten
Country: USA
Software: Painter
This is an ice elemental/ goddess stopping a fire elemental/god from destroying the protagonist in my story. I painted it in Painter, all drawn from scratch. I did get references for the Lion's pose and the ice elemental's pose from Poser. I work with a Cintiq 21ux in Painter and draw everything by hand in Painter.

why these colours are so pale? maybe some contrast at the flames?

A very cool concept, but I have to agree, the colors should be more vibrant than this. I would work on some color enhancements here maybe.

i agree with the previous comments, the colours certainly need to be more saturated to add more depth, and also i think you need to try and add something to the blue figure as it doesnt really fit in with the rest of the scene, maybe add some browns and yellows from the surrounding light. i also really like the flame/hair along the back of the lion.

The picture is awesome, to be true. Although I don't find the little spikes of flame down the lion's back to fit it very much. There should also be far more oranges and yellows reflect on the ice figure. The vapour that exhudes from her should come from her back and be more misty and not so much as strands of fume comming from her front. The lion should be stronger and more robust. Other than that, I see nothing wrong with it other than it reminds be of that battle scene in Narnia: The Witch, The Lion and the Wardrobe where Jadis, the White Witch of ice tries to strike Aslan with her ice sword/spear.

Heh, cool. I undersestimated the software that is driving the forums and its integration with their new portfolio feature. I updated the image in my portfolio and was expecting to just have to put a notice of the update here. However the picture as it shows up here is the updated version. The feedback you guys gave was very good thanks.
