CGTalk - Not saving radiosity solution

View Full Version : Not saving radiosity solution

Hi folks.

Seems I have a problem with a scene here.
C4D doesn't save the radiosity solution. I have checked the box 'Save solution', but nothing happens. When I try to copy-paste the scene into another document it renders and saves the solution inside 'illum'-folder in the Maxon program folder, but when I then save that file, and check 'Save solution', it doesn't save it. Any ideas?

It worked before..

Found the problem. It seems to me that Cinema 4D doesn't support more than 32+3 characters filenames in total, and seeing that my file was 24+3, and the GI file adds another 9 or so characters, it couldn't be saved.

Why didn't I think of it before..
QuarkXpress had the same trouble, and that bothered me for days.. :)
