Title: Watching The World
Name: Natiq Aghayev
Country: Azerbaijan
Software: Photoshop, SOFTIMAGE|XSI, ZBrush
Well, nothing special to report, really :) Just wanted to draw something on the subject of Angels leaving among us, in the modern world, watching us, sometimes helping us and sometimes not. Who they are, who do the leave for - humans or gods, what are their goals, who knows. But they are definitely one of the most attractive and mysterious heroes of mythology. So I thought it would be a nice idea to portray one of them ;) I hope you'll like him :)
I wasn't quite sure in which section to place this image - 2D or 3D as it's a mixture of matte painting (background city), 3D (which is approx. 60%) and 2D digital painting (the rest). So I posted in 3D section. Completion time: 1 week.

wow, what a great piece, amazing idea and composition. 4*
really great, love the mood...
Some shadows on the character will be nice .. the black part under the leg (don't know if it is its shadow) is a bit strange.
But your work is absolutely

Love this image. Really speaks to me. I personally love being really high up and just watching life take place. It's quite refreshing to just step back out of it, and take it all in. Five stars from me.

Thanks guys -) I appreciate your comments :) Glad you like it -)
2 evilmaul - Oh I doublechecked it, really. Within the angle I chose - there shouldn't be reflection definitely. Thanks!
2 depleteD - Yes, City and BG is matte painting.
2 Jadetiger - That's right -) The same situation with me, I have a couple of places myself where I can be completely alone watching the world passing me by.) Thanks man :)
Thanks everyone! I appreciate you crits and comments!

Fantasic !!!
Great concept, well executed.
Personally I think you could up the drama with a more extreme crop, a very tall canvas or very wide on could add abit more drama, but again, thats just me.

Wow, very nice. Can you render a bigger version of the angel? It would be a nice background of my desktop :)

Well, depends on how much bigger? :) Here's 1500px wide version (http://cinealliance.com/xenomorf/Angel_1500.jpg) I hope that will do :) Cheers.
2 speedhorse - Thanks -)

Unfortunately not :hmm: The only thing I can do about providing a closer look is giving the link above to the higher resolution image. Sorry for that. I appreciate your words -)

fantastic. love it! 5 stars
Very nice picture, quite inspirational. I assume you are going for the Ralph Mcquirre look, so I won't crit the lack of realism, just a damn good picture all around. Nice composition.
You deserve the four stars this has been given,
