Ok. It goes loosely!
I think, CGTalk do the Contest for so much time for peoples like me. I am a "neewbi" on CGTalk. Only few days old. And in such a way I experienced also only last week of the Contest....
But it is still a mass of time!

Here you can see my first scribble. But i work on it. I will have a building on the right side the group came out. They leave the building. Better said, they must leave it. Because there is absurd characters, which the society in the building (castle/city/...) does not want to have. But in addition later more....

And here also few designations. And......sorry for my english. In the school have I always painted instead of English to learn. ;)

My favorite one is no. 5- it's cleaner and somehow more interesting to look at, possibly because you're closer to the characters and so relate to them more?

Here are a w.i.p. of an early color giving. What can i say? It is a lot of work and i admire the artists, which deliver here pictures, with stretch it me the goose skin on the embossment floats. Or other one is genuinly insanity!

Hi Jakyll,
So, I'm not sure I understand what's happening in your latest color sketch. You've got some nice pencils but it doesn't seem like you are folllowing through with those ideas. I think you have a solid piece in the making but the direction you are going seems a little ambigious right now. I'm gonna keep my eye on this cause I think you can pull it off. Keep it up!! :)

Woah - does that tree have teeth?? Good stuff. Think it needs more depth and for the narrative to read more quickly at first glance, but I'm sure that will come. Go for it,

Yes. Yes. Yes. I try it. Colors were not ever my thing… however I learn from day to day in addition. The picture is not still for a long time finished. But here a w.i.p.

hi jakyll,
yes! keep on painting! its still a lot of work to do, but its worth it.
im looking foreward to see those freaky creatures in "action". what daytime has your picture? is it evening? or are they just dark clouds, to underline the situation of the expulsion of the poor freaks into the unknown of what the future brings?

keep on "hobeling" your wacom tips down ;)

I have begun to paint some details. Only a small WIP. 10 Days? Oh, oh!

Reminds me of history, where a small boy buys an ice. The salesman wants 10 for it. The boy has fun!

nice fur. 10 days? dont forget the deliverycrowd at the entrance. maybe there will be some fights at the doors. dont forget this. maybe you have to put your schlafsack (Sleeping-bag) in front of the doors to be one of the first when they open.

i like the concept. I love all the interesting characters you have here. Its a very complex composition. I would try and fade the backgound elements a bit with some fogging and differ the tonal values slighty. it looks a bit flat at the momment with all that is going on. good luck with this. not long to go!

More and more details...a lot of work. And only 6 days left. And I think, i will do more hard shadows at the end. But of thinking alone nothing happens. That is as with the school. Without with the head with the work the best neck does not help anything. I get yourself fast a coffee, then it continues. You do not need to wait.

your picture develops like an old polariod! first you see nothing, then after and after, you see afters.. i mean whats developping after. your charakters are (rudolf) sharpening and pelling slowly out of the egg, if you know what i mean ;) keep shipping coal into your cg-oven!

Laboriously the squirrel nourishes itself.
From a film from the 80's have I from Geres Hemming the sentence: “Nobody can do eternally at the same place at the same time one purely!” and it was right!

Oh year, that is a nice idear! Thank you for helping me. It is so beautiful, assistance comes, if one has the horizon with schorf before work. Also so fast and uncomplicatedly. That constitutes evenly a good artis. Also times honk, if one takes the right of way to someone. I can only again and again loud say which I quietly think. Go through!

I have times tries new ways to go. I found it boring, a pixel is colored in only one color. I give some pixels in the picture a colour gradient.

OK. I am finished. Not only with the picture. Owing to the Contests I found again back to my roots. In the last years i made much with 3D. It is for a long time ago, which i painted so much and so intensiv. And now i am happy. Made many fun. And i lerned much. And more importantly. I have now many ideas.

To the picture:
I wanted to paint from the outset rather a picture, which goes away from the reality. With unusual creatures. My first idea were figures, which go on a journey, because they do not fit into the remainder of the society. They pack themselves their have and property to go on a lagr journay. I hope, which they find sometime once the place, where they become lucky.

Was an epic journay for me too.
Feel me honoured, between so many talents.
