long time max user, new maya user.
Im looking to assign shortcut keys to things in the menu..
such as shading-hardware texturing
I cant seem to find it (and the many others i want to assign in the window-settings pref-hotkey menu)
So is there a way of clicking on a menu item to assign a key to it? or to find it in the hotkey menu...

I cant find anything in that hotkey menu.

thanks,
Adam

Wow that sucked, a glitch in the forum, now I have to type again.

Use the script editor(with echo on) to record your action, then copy and paste it to the bottom of the hotkey editor after pressing new. Assign it to a catagory and name it, now make a hotkey for it.

Marking menus are great! I recomend exploring.
