CHARACTER MODELING
Position Summary:
Create models and textures to meet the aesthetic, creative and technical quality standards set by team members as well as client specifications. Deliver models from mockup to finished stages, including textures and blendshapes, to riggers for setup.
Job Description:
-Create models and textures and assist in applications for all stages of implementation.
-Design props, backgrounds, characters as needed.
-Actively participate in team and department meetings.
-Mentor less experienced artists.
-Assist with resolving pipeline issues.
-Contribute to streamlining team productivity.
-Generate solutions to any and all technical or design issues related to modeling.
Qualifications:
-Command of Maya’s modeling and texturing tools and experience with standard 3D animation modeling software.
-Knowledge of Sidefx Houdini a plus.
-Proficiency with a texturing suite such as Adobe Photoshop or Bodypaint required.
-Knowledge of rigging and how differing topologies deform when animated a strong plus.
-Strong technical aptitude related and fluent in a variety of artistic styles.
-Clearly demonstrated artistic ability with traditional art background in figure drawing, painting, sculpting, lighting, anatomy and proportion.
-Comfortable in a fast paced environment and able to meet project milestones.
-Collaborate effectively with team.
-Demonstrated ability to work with a high degree of self-direction.
-Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
-Commitment to personal and peer development and sharing best practices.
-Excellent written and oral English.
-No Students or entry level candidates! No telephone calls or walk-ins.
