Just copy your light, put black for color and white for shadwos, include your two object, and here you are.

Actually My problem is this one :

I have 1 light wich cast shadows.

3 objects :

a box environment with matte/shadow
the 2 other objects r regular shader

I need the closest object to cast shadow on the second one,
BUT NOT on the matte/shadow box !!!

All I want is to cut the light with the closest object (a plane)
to put the second object in the dark
without getting the shadow of this plane on the box matte/shadow !!!

a pic can be more explicit :

I could do that with a mask in the projector of the light ...

But my problem is that projector map DON'T work with area light in Brazil :annoyed:

I don't know what to do with that .... Please help me if you can

I have to create a shadow zone according to a photo background.
with area light ... if this zone was a simple part of the image, it would be easy, but the border of the dark zone is not straight. So I can't use the limit of the light.
I have to use 2 planes wich "cut the light" without casting shadow on the matte/shadow box. But those two plane have to cast shadows on the other object of the scene!!!!!

just like in the pic I post above...

I can't render my anim just because of that !!!! DAMN !!!

Render the image in RPF. Use Object og mtrl ID on alle objects, ecsept the shadow reciving object.

In RPF setting, check mtrl/object ID and shadow.
Now open Combustion (Discreet.com) and in her you can delete the shadow pass (renderpass) where the object id is ex. 2

----------------------
I'm not 100% shure on this one:
Else you can use the Render Element instead.. same method, but now you can use Photoshop.

I guess you have a plane that works as floor, select it, go to properties and uncheck the option that says recieve shadows.

Thatīs all...

Hi Gif,

Make an independent light(s) for the two rectangular objekts with cast shadow (off)! and exclude them from the other light(s).
I thing this is an option too, if I understand the problem!?

Matte/Shadow n'est pas une putaine, mon vieux(!):shame: ,elle est seulement un peu capricieuse, comme petite amie:hmm:, mais moi je l' aime bien!:D

Hi Gif,

Look at the image below. If that solve, the problem, it's made like this:

Objekt (a)-Matte/Shadow
Objekt (b)-Matte/Shadow
Objekt(b 01), in the render window-Bckgr. map.

Light01 include: Obj.(a), Oval objekt.
Light02(same data, same place) include: Ground plane, oval objekt, Obj.(b)
Light03 include: Ground plane, (real)Objekt01 if you need it in the scene.

The bckgr. map is a rendred image(jpg) of the perspective viewport where everythings, exept(real)Objekt01, are hiden.

Si ca ne marche pas,..ne sois pas triste.
