View Full Version : Grass with Hair and fur in max

ive been trying to make some nice grass with hair and fur in max 8, but am really new at the hair and fur , this is so far my result http://img365.imageshack.us/img365/1038/grasswip29xw.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
can some one give me some advise in getting relistic grass. thanks

well try to use more grass,
and give it more like a granient look, so at the bottum dark, and at the top a light green. the collor that you are now using is to dark. Try do chump the grass to gether, so it will look more real.

use flat extrusions and enough subdivisions. Make sure you light every strand since grass isn't as dense as hair. It'll look fuzzy if you don't.

i did a tutorial on this a while ago, there's a link to it (landscape) in my sig, i used 3ds max 8 with hair and fur so it should help you, i think the colour isn't much like grass in your render, change that as well, btw i would have posted this in the 3ds max forum, this doesn't really have to do anything with modeling..
