View Full Version : Just a tiny waterflea, not me :-)
Gunter 12-31-2002, 12:28 AM Hi,
working on a zoo of water mikro- and mesofauna, this is my waterflea, Daphnia, about half a millimiter, 0.02 inch, big.
A former version was shown in the gallery some days ago. After that I made a lot of changes concerning the scale in relation to environment and increased focal length.
I hope, its much better now, nevertheless further critics is welcome.
Thanks a lot, Gunter

Much more beautiful than the real thing in fact. Really: this kind of images gives beginners like me a clear view on the mountains to be climbed and the beauty that will be found there. Thanks a lot for posting! (I always forget that there are other forums here too...)

I really like the picture, however I have one remark.
Is the flee covered in a air bubble (blueish layer)? If so I think it would be more realistic to give the layer some reflection.

The render is stunning! I love it too!
A couple of minor things:
I'd like see the blur on the background reduced about 40%.
The bubbles need higher sub-divisions - they are faceted in some instances.
Keep up the great work!

Great thanks to all. Really encouraging being praised in this forum.
Maybe I missed some explanation with the posting.
For rirad: its not covered in an air bubble. The outer layer is an armouring skin of slimy, half-transparent material, which is changed every some days, depending from the growth of the flea.
For medula: the small pieces in the water should not bubbles. The dimesion of an air-bubble would be so big, we could not see on the screen. I wanted to show pieces of algae, bacteria, dust and thus facetting was the intention.
Wish you all a very happy new year :wavey:
