Hey everyone,
I'm a senior at college for creative studies in Detroit and I'll be graduating in May. This is a still life I did of my dorm room. I'll be looking for jobs soon so crits on pretty much anything could be useful. Be honest.

Thanks

Akil

Looks nice!

I think the door knob is a bit big and the door is a bit distracting. I recommend removing it or toning it down.

Good luck with the job hunt and keep up the good work.

the door knob, and the neck of the guitar. also the guitar could be smoother looking as far as edges.

im not sure if youre going for a cartoonish look or a photorealistic look or a mixture or what....

It looks good, but I noticed a few things. The wire closest to the camera seams to go through the floor. The bed looks too rounded, which makes it look pretty unrealistic. I think the lamp should be tilted a little so you can see what it is so you're not looking directly at its side, it took me some time to figure out what it was. The lighting needs the most work I think. It's very vague and confused where the lights are comming from. It looks like the lamp should be giving the most light, but then it looks like there's a strong light above and one to the right of the camera making that big shadow from the guitar. I think those papers in the middle are too bright, it looks like the guitar should be the focus, but that keeps my eye comming back to the hotspot. Looks good though.

Thanks everyone for giving the image a good look. I think you're right about the lighting and the lamp angle. I think I just need to make the lighting more obvious. I think you guys are right about the door too. I thought it kind of bothered me but I kind of needed someone else to point it out though. Thanks again.

My only critique would be the guitar. the curves closest to the neck of the guitar should be skinnier. I've never scene a guitar where the 'humps' are equally wide. Does that make sense? Of course maybe thats just how the guitar looks?

Actually, the guitar does look like that, but maybe I should change it to make it look more comfortable and believable? Not sure.

I see all this electrical equipment, but.... you have an acoustic guitar which doesnt look like an electro acoustic.

If ya know what i mean:hmm:
