Hi,

I've googled for my problem and i ended up at this thread:
http://forums.cgsociety.org/archive/index.php/t-14268.html
Unfortunatly this wasn't the answer :s

my problem:
http://users.pandora.be/Scampi/test.jpg

i want a volume light shining trough the window, maybe some fog

the problem is when i add the volume light, my whole scene gets over saturated. There must be a reason why the light is everywhere instead of "trough the window". i've added a roof and walls (so it's a box with a hole).

i use: brazil r/s (and a brazil light - rectangle area)
3DS max 7

Thnx for the upcomming help.

Make sure your lights are set to cast volumetric shadows as well as regular shadows. If you are using max lights, then set be sure the shadow type is set to shadow map. If you are using Brazil lights, then be sure that the "Cast Atmos. Shadows" box is checked in the Basic Shadow Params rollout of the light.
