Hey guys, I just finished watching the Animation Progress special on the second Ice Age DVD and I was wondering how they did the cracks running through the ice? Any explinations, tips, or tutorials?

I'm sure it was generated by in-house application. You can't do it at home without the help of great coders!

why is that>?

I can think of many ways to do an ice crack. Check out the earthquake challenge , i dont think anyone there had propretiary software or an R&D team.
