View Full Version : software particles wont render
RazorsKiss13 04-13-2006, 03:49 PM I am trying to render maya software particles (clouds) using the maya software renderer. The particles were emitted from a surface with a texture and the texture was used to color the particles using an rgbPP attribute. However, now the particles will not render. I think this is due to the fact that the particles don't actually have a texture on them but they are colored properly using the texture on the suface. If anyone knows a fix for this then please let me know. Thanks.

Software rendered cloud particles don't automatically get the particle's rgbPP when they're rendered. You have to connect the outColor of a particleSampler node to the color of the particleCloud material for that to happen. But even so, they should still render in that ugly cyan default color.

the rgbPP is connected to the color on a texture so that the particles take in the color of the texture where they are emitted. the default openGL display of the particles is just fine but they just wont render in maya software.
