the night before my gf and me watched hero.
since that was still on my mind i had to put some red in there.

but the lovliest person on this planet saw it and asked me if she could have it.

my teacher wanted to have a coffee and i put some more colors in this idea.
still a speed painting. photoshop hard brush. it wasn't planned but now i am inspired to paint a real pic in this style. i'll block in something tonite and post it tomorrow...

so, i started the real deal.

changed the angle a lil'.
painted some moodier sky.
trees,... . foreground middleground background.
keep changing colors and thinking about the placement of the character.

I really like the look of this after it's been tilted.

Reminds of the battle scenes in the maple tree forest between Snow and Moon in Hero (the kung fu movie)

I really like the angle, but the image seems a bit flat. Perhaps making the lighsource more apparent?

thank you all for commenting.
i played a little more with depth and lighting,
and pushed the focus slightly. i changed some little things
but i was mostly going with the flow since i didn't have a layout.
it's definitively not pro material yet but it's my first painting as such.

plus, my friends and me went to a movie theatre in china town to see the promise yesterday, which gave me new inspiration and motivation.
