wedge 03-08-2002, 02:08 AM what would be the best way to go about generating large scale terrain, a la the Boonta Eve pod race track in Episode 1?

Don't be afraid of BIG geometry!
Really! You do it just as though you were making small terrain (chaotically oriented polygons, bump/displacement maps, noise modifiers, whatever suits you), only make it much larger. That's what's great about 3D -- infinite bigness and infinite smallness. Use them wisely...
