View Full Version : Challenges for the heck of it
rende 12-30-2002, 05:44 PM I have an idea: Instead of waiting for cgchallenge to pop out another challenge for us to get us motivated to actually finish something, why not set up a tread where all max users can compare work and ideas and help us noobs :P
Please send in any ideas for the rest of us

I'm using editable poly to model a Sabaru WRC but I don't know how to make the windshield corner sharp (not using weight it makes to whole mesh stretch) and the edges of the seperate panels ex. the doors and the roof
plz any thing may help

well i have only done one car so far so im not that great at them yet
but if you dont want to use weights cant you cut in another line around the windshiekld to keep it sharper?

There are some alternatives, using smoothing groups and check smooth result by smoothing groups at parameters section of meshmooth. Or just increase the detail near the windshield

no i mean before meshsmooth
when you have 2 lines close it creates a sharper edge when smoothed

I know how now, use crease at the meshsmooth modifier
I downloaded 2 movies so far out of 4 from 3d palace that shows you how. basicly select the edges and extrude them bevel them inwards and then crease the 2 outlining new edges
