I noticed a lot of other program specific forums here on CGTalk have a "Cool things no one knows about..." thread as a sticky on the top level of the forum. I think it would be a good thing to do the same thing for this forum. Heaven knows EIAS has acquired a lot of sneaky little shortcuts over the years that newbies fail to find easily, like the right-click on pop-up menu's to apply to all selected items...

I always liked setting the anti-aliasing mode to Adaptive and the levels both to 255. You get an ultra crisp image that's really great for stills.

I'm fine with the idea. If you want to start a new thread and help collect tips, I'll be happy to make the thread sticky. The more user help I have the better!

Okay, I'll do that straight away. So please stop posting in this thread people.

Hi Brian,

How about start a 'materials lab' sticky thread ? Make a sample project with some standard lighting setup and let the EIAS users and experts alike to start cooking using the packaged shaders and images files only, and post the mtr.zip and preview for the community to share? Any thought?

Regards,
Burney

Cool, as long as the model being used to show of the materials is more interesting/informative than a shaderball.

I think we need to rename that the 'Shadeball'. Shader implies that it shows shaders...

So who let that pedantic git Ian in then?
Ian ;)
