CGTalk - FREE 3D viewer !

Kaydara has been pushing hard over the past couple of years in developing an interchange file format that would allow any 3D user to use a single format to go between any app. With more than 20 companies supporting FBX (or supporting it very soon), we realized that many of you needed an easy to use viewer that could be used to visualize your content without having to load it in your favorite app or render a video file.

We've made available a FREE plug-in to QuickTime that allows you to playback and navigate (yes you can more the camera around) thru FBX files.

I was using the QTFBX_PublicPreview2_full so that may have been the issue, or that the 3dlabs oxygen 420 doesn't like QT much anyway. I got a pbuffer extension error, something about switching to software mode then the view would freeze at load and after a few seconds result in the blue screen of death so I removed it from my system, too many of those and eventually my system gets permanently unhappy.

Anyway I've tried the new one, still misses pbuffer but works, thank you. Quite impressed being able to move around goblin fbx example on close to real time playback.
