View Full Version : Strange render in Maya/MR when importing a Zbrush OBJ
Haider of Sweden 04-12-2006, 08:28 AM Does anyone recognise this weird kind of render-problem?

Look at the areas that are totally dark. They should be shaded, but instead they become single-colored.
Any help is appreaciated :D

I'm not sure I follow- are you saying that a texture should be apparent? If so- and I'm guessing you know this already- you have to rebuild your shading network in Maya. OBJ is only geometry- you can export you texture map from zbrush, and use it with a match exported model (with UVs set).

Hi Craig
In fact - the shader used in the pix is just lambert or blinn. I am not using any shading network. Its just that the simple shader itself behave weird, and I have a feeling that it only happened to me with meshes that I recently imported to maya from zbrush.
I dont know if its some weired normal thing or anything else.
So I was hoping that someone else had the same experience, or at least some tip to give me.
