Hi, Sergey!
Very impressive concept!
There is only one thing - dont you think that main characters are to close to the left?
May be I'm wrong... Don't listen me...
Good luck!!!

sirBS

Sergey, excellent work, even at this stage!
Very interesting and complex lock.
That me confuses the only thing - that part of a floor on which they go. The near part to us seems a little is filled up too downwards. It probably because of that that a wall on the right and a wall at the left are not parallel...

LexLe
04-21-2006, 11:16 AM
hello buddy!
I see that work moves ahead...
It is pleasant to me.. Something agrees with sirBS that that with prospect not that.. You look necessarily.. Characters are very good..

Thanks for your comments, guys! Yeah, there is such an effect here. I'll correct it.
But I'll probably reject this concept. The more interesting idea came in on me. And now I'm working on it.

Hi! Here I looked for a color palette for my new image. I think that I will be able to choose something now. :) I like some variants.

ramy badie
04-26-2006, 04:15 AM
I'm not sure I fully understand the concept yet, but the four that form a square (or I guess a rectangle) in the top right caught my eye most of all. I think the 2nd one in the third column is my favorite because of all the bright colors, but I feel like those 4 each present a different sort of mood and each have something that I feel is lacking in the other color samples. Good luck!

MichaelZHsee
04-26-2006, 07:27 AM
the middle piece on the 2nd row is my fav~i like the vivid blue against the yellow, cool and warm contrast always appeals to me:D

Elrond56
04-26-2006, 08:21 AM
love this color layout . . . great diversity and a wide spectrum of feeling coming from each one . . . my favorite is the blue with the golden center but I also like the one above and below it . . . can't wait to see the direction you go in *)

Pat-Piper
04-26-2006, 09:57 AM
Very nice color keys...Atris...I like them all. But if I'm to pick my favorite, I will go for the third one down from the middle column. Maybe it's because of the red sails, I just love red sails. haha...and the overall use of coloring is appealing too. Good luck man...but what happened to your previous concept? Are you abandoning it? It was looking very nice too!

walrus
04-26-2006, 02:07 PM
Ah, so here's where we vote on our favorites, right? I like the cool, calm mood that turquoise sets so my favorites are the second row, second column (which had a great warm/cool contrast that I always love) and the 3rd row, third column (saturation contrast). Something makes me suspect, though, that you won't use them: Most of your color roughs are pretty neutral, leading me to think that those are the ones you prefer. But it's you're piece, so that's appropriate. Good luck whichever you choose!

Zeitwolf! Thank you.

dzygn! Thanks. I didn't decide yet. I only know they will be very
small! :)

ramy badie, MichaelZHsee, Elrond56, Pat-Piper, walrus!

Thank you very much for your comments! It was highly interesting to
hear your opinions. I really appreciate it!
I see that this variant(the second row, second column) is in the lead.
I've chosen the variant - the third row, third column for a
while. But I'm not sure. I'll show soon what comes from it.

And about my previous concept. Yes, I decided to change my idea. But I'll certainly finish it.

beelow

04-27-2006, 08:32 AM
1st choice - 3rd column - top

2nd choice - middle column, 2nd image down

3rd choice - 3rd column - 3rd down

MrFreeman
04-27-2006, 11:39 AM
i prefer the middle second row as this immediately stands out, but i also like 3rd row middle with the red sail and autumn colours, as well as 1st row right hand frame which has great lighting potential.

Good luck...

04-27-2006, 04:15 PM
this is gonna be another great piece atris. I prefer the 3rd row middle one. I think its an interesting color composition, and it leads the eye in the right places. Good luck and have fun:P

Hi! I was finally disappointed in colors of the previous variant. I did new one. I want the atmosphere to be magic and a little festive. :)

walrus
05-01-2006, 02:38 PM
I think these colors are nice, but they don't have a strong difference in values that some of yuor other comps did. Except for the bright lights on the posts, it feels like everything else in the picture is the same value, making it hard to read. What happened to the other comp you chose? :)
Good luck...

Michael! Thank you for your comment! You're absolutely right. The image didn't become better. I go on to seek for bearing. I start to try new variants if something is wrong or I don't understand how to achieve a desired effect. And I always can return to the old variant if new one is worse. Thanks again! :)

i really like this concept. nice design, good composition. i agree with walrus about the color values. it seems a bit flat at the mo. i would desaturate the background slightly. The blues are very strong. anyway, apart from this tiny detail, it's looking great. good luck with this

Hi! Here is that I have done at the moment. I have the background, some characters left to finish. Comments are most welcome. Thank you!

Norberg
05-23-2006, 12:41 PM
Hi Sergey,

You have some amazing amount of detail as usual. The colors work great but itīs kind of hard to read. Itīs broken up so much that you donīt know where to focus. Maby just a darker blue background to the right and left lower corner would do the trick.
Impressing work anyway!

otre
05-23-2006, 01:10 PM
Great image. Also very impressed by the amount of detail you put in.

My only crit, as has been mentioned, is that because of all the detail, it can be abit hard to read. What I think would help, is if you have a tad more contrasty shadows on the foreground plants(to clearly define a foreground. Right now the shading seems to define a middleground and background, but no foreground.) Also have the 4 characters in the foreground stand out better.(the guitarist/couple/guy with backpack) Put some stronger contrast on them? My thoughts anyway. Just some small adjustments and this could be a winner. :)

Best of luck

Mythmaker

Hm-m! Good question! I wanted to do an image more simple without huge amount of detail, but it didn't turn out. :)

Story:
Now it is early morning in a wonderful country among the high, exotic native-grasses. An intrepid explorer crew sets out on The Great Journey in the ship constructed from a big corn-cob. They dream to discover New Lands. It's a significant event for their homeland, and so Queen under royal escort was attended a start of the journey. And of course, there are pressmen and TV-men here.
That's a very exciting moment; what they'll have to see where was none of the inhabitants of their marvellous country!

Congratulations Atris, fantastic image man. I will never eat corn again, at least not without looking for maybe a small crew or pilot. I wish you good luck at the judging.

:) fantastic work Sergey!!!

So much detail and the concept is yet again, really original

I love the use of colour and despite initially thinking you were crazy changing from you initial idea which was really dynamic, think this is far far better....

one of my favourites ... good luck and probably see you in the next challenge :)
