this is my first official reel :P, modeling, rigging and animation reel, this are bits of a few works i did in 2005, and some animations are just for test the models. i hope you like it.

Wow! Lots of nice stuff there! My favorite is the flying bug machine coming out of the space station, your wicked looking turtle and the model of the fly towards the end. But, my one critique, is your test animations where you're testing out your model. You might want to think about improving those animations. Because you have some really nice animation, then you get to those where the model is nice, but the animation doesn't look so good, makes it confusing as to whether you can animate or if those other nice pieces were just luck. If that makes sense. Also, you have some really nice lighting and renders in your scenes and others that could use more improvement. You just want to show your best stuff. Studios tend to remember more what they don't like than what they do. But, I think you've got some serious talent. Looking forward to seeing more from you.

Yeah most places are only looking for one type of artist... i.e. animation, modeling, or texturing... granted some places, like certain game houses will have you doing multiple jobs, but it seems even the game industry is shifting to single job stuff with the higher end systems coming out... so with that, maybe you want to try focusing on one field and really fine tuning that one... good stuff though never the less(I agree also with agentcub)

there is tons of work out there for generalists, on music videos, tv commercials, corporate niche stuff likee medical visualization and legal visualization, contract positions on video games, smaller films, you name it. but, to get to the point where you even know that work exists, and be considered for it, you have to make connections and have demonstrated experience, and thats easiest to do by getting a job in CG, which is easiest to do by being a specialist :)

i myself and a number of people i know, make a living freelancing as generalists, we all had years of experience before we went freelance tho. as a freelancer you are actually rewarded for versatility so i find it suits me.. in the past year i've modelled high and low poly characters, vehicles, and environments, animated, rigged, done dynamics, lighting, compositing, illustration, texture maps, all for the dinero.

however i will say, if you step up to the plate, you got to have the skills, dont put together a generalist reel if half the things you arent good at. if you are going to include examples of your texture work, all the textures on the reel better be up to that quality, etc.
