Blissium, an established Motion Graphics and Visual EFX studio in Santa Monica, is looking for a Creative/Technical Director.
We are seeking a person with an awareness of current trends in commercial/design work and the drive to push beyond them. As a premiere visual effects studio, Blissium is particularly interested in someone with a depth of understanding and use of advanced computer graphic capabilities. Past experience with projects involving multiple team members and large budget/volume deliverables is a plus. While management experience is not required, it is a welcome addition.
The Ideal candidate will require and be expected to do the following:
• 6+ years of experience in the broadcast design and motion graphics industry as a creative leader and overall team leader.
• well-rounded design sensibility is a must.
• must be a hands on designer & animator.
• proficiency in the usual software on Mac platform. (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, FCP)
• working design knowledge of 3d programs. (Cinema4D, Maya, Shake, Fusion, etc…).
• handle creative calls with clients to discuss projects.
• developing design briefs and strategies.
• brainstorming with the creative team to produce a broad range of possible solutions.
• producing presentation packets of storyboards, style frames, treatments and tears.
• exceptional presentation skills.
• communicating clearly with the client and being responsive to their comments and changes.
• managing the creative team on a job as it moves through pitch to design to production and delivery.
• working well with a team of other designers, producers, and production artists.
• working on tight deadlines
• multi-tasking: working on more than one project at a time
• producing accurate and high quality work
Applicants must be prepared to demonstrate advanced skills in storyboarding, and polished final products with ingenuity. Traditional and electronic medium portfolios will be required during the interview process.
