Its a Desert Eagle 50 cal... Its about 760 polys and the first shot is a screen cap from within max.

Its my second attempt at modeling this gun... I'm quite happy with all but the texture... crits are definatly welcome.

How should I improve the texture?

Let me know what you think...

OK
the handle needs more polygons to smooth it out

the handle will also have completely different shader settings
leather preset or something

the metal need more specularity and more glossness
looks like wood at the moment

the UV texture needs a tidy up to make the edges stand out more
maybe kill the UV and bake a basic metal preset in and then paint over that to add the detail you need ?

and you could add a bevel to all edges just so the camera gets more of a color change between surfaces

But stilll a very good model
as long as you don't render a close up
it would stand up to Feature Film:thumbsup:

Looks great, however it's almost too perfect. Add some dirt and definately some scratches. Just basic wear and tear on the gun, where the oils of the hands rub off onto the metal.
