How do you mean speed? Isn't that frequency? Something like (frequency * change)/manual tweak value?

if it is completely procedural, Speed would be a definition of time, in this case, your expression for a cycle would be sin*NOW
so... to control how much time, just drop a divide in there, like (Sin*NOW)/24 for one cycle a second. or.... use a slider for the value, so (sin*NOW)*Slider:Xpos
this would also work with a morph, so feed that expression into a slider for a morph, and it will joggle the morph back and forth....or a motion clip, or a cbmaf expression, etc.
this what you were thinking of?
