Do I smell Trademark infringment?
I think so!
--------------------------------------------------
I don't think this is entirely nessicary, the kind of people that would use something like that would already mention that they use lightwave so, its kinda pointless.

I really doubt Newtek would mind someone saying "This picture was made with lightwave". Just free advertisement for them.

Sorry if this is a trademark infrigment .... it was only an idea to put in my personal web page to indicate that this work was made using LW. Here in Spain LW is a unknown software ... specially in technical and architecture areas, and because i am an lightwaver :) i only want to spread Lightwave word into my comunity area, architects, clients, etc.

Hi, Juan!
We're very pleased when folks mention that they've used LightWave 3D in their work. The little graphic you've made would be very acceptable, preferably with the citation on the graphic expanded to "Made with NewTek's LightWave 3D®"; note the addition of the registered trademark symbol - ® -. A text citation below the graphic would be proper as well: "LightWave 3D® is a registered trademark of NewTek, Inc., and the LightWave Logo Graphic is © (copyright) NewTek, Inc. Used by permission."
We do provide a list of guidelines for permitted use and proper display and acknowledgement of our trademarks and copyright logos and graphics, here:
http://www.newtek.com/trademarks.html
and as long as a given usage is within our stated permissions and guidelines, we're fine with it.
Thanks very much for your interest in promoting work done with LightWave 3D - that's another wonderful contribution from a great user community!

Hello Chuck
Thank you for your guide to solve trademark infringment. I make new one with changes you tell me. I dont know your page about trademarks so it is my unknown.
I supouse that logo appear in first mensage would change ... if not please tell me and i reload it in a new one.
Like i say many other times, i think that Lightwave has an incredible potencial in visualization and techincal projects, and it
is really unknown software here, where this kind of works has a
lot of commercial applications ... more than broadcast or special
effects in fact.
When archiect or construction firm see my work, 80% ask if it is done with Max, and 20% if it is done with Autocad ... but none ask
me about Lightwave .... and generally anybody knows anything about this program .... but all of them say "hey ... it is good work ...", so i want that this change .... i love Lightwave and his comunity and i am very pleased to help them.
Regards and happy new year

Of course ... if Newtek think that all trademarks and design style are ok, anybody can use it ... but if any of our incredible artist in this comunity can desing a better one it will be wellcome.

A while ago I decided to do the same thing you did for my web site. My logo is more simple, but more or less the same. My logo is a link to their site though, that way people can instantly learn more about this program. My version is enclosed....
