Hey there peeps,

Well I've been using AFX for sometime now but I've all of a sudden run into this weird problem. So I was hoping to get some suggestions or even better, an answer to this brain scratcher of a problem.
I have a sound file I'm using as background music along with video footage and some sound bites. All is well except the background music keeps making random split second pauses throughout the song. The original sound file is fine but when I render it out and when I make a RAM preview it make the pauses, causing it to sound like a skipping CD. The strange thing is my sound bites do not have this problem and they are in the same project file. So, WTF?!

Anybody... anybody? HELP!

Is it an mp3? if so, remember this: Crap in = Crap out.

Which means use uncompressed audio such as *.wav.

Other than that, it could just be a specific problem with that file, re-record / save from your audio application as a totally new file.

I agree with Ian.

ATTENTION ALL AE USERS - AVOID MP3 SOUND FILES!!! Always use uncompressed audio formats.

Yay!
It worked! You were right it was an MP3 and that's what was screwing it all up. I downloaded a free converter, Re-sampled the sound file and converted it to wav this time and there are no problems. Thanks for your help I won't make that mistake again.

Cudos to you!
