why post ??
if your not given me details????
i posted this for a reason and that was to get comment from people who know something about 3D.

I know the lighting is something i will do better the second render
and the character animation will be improved little abit

but what's the reason for the " I don't like it " ?

I'm sure this thread askes for comment not just :thumbsdow

Thanks

Not sure why he doesn't like it, but I think it's pretty damn good! Really nice camera work (loved the transitions from the line drawings to the 3d). There are parts, however, where I think the action might be a bit slow. LIke the fireball the kid throws at the robot the first time, a turtle could dodge that, and likewise, afterwards, the kid turns his head toward the camera and it's a really slow movement that sticks out. (I'm being picky here, so don't take this too hard).

Another thing that I noticed, was some of the punches don't seem to have any impact. The impact on the victim is seen, but not on the attacker (in other words, when you punch something, your fist takes an impact as well and is jarred back slightly).

The only other point that would get me is why all this is happening, but... suspension of disbelief is in effect there I guess. What's this vidoe game? I'm guessing the player would be the fire kid, right?... In any case, it looks really good, and the notes I made above are just things to get really anal about. Keep up the good work,

Sincerely,

Neal

I dont know why funnydoodle doesn't like it either, I thought it was cool. It definately looks like a lot of work was put into it. The only part I didn't like was the pen&ink filter stuff, just didn't appeal to me. Again The first fireball part was a little slow, not when he generates it, thats fine, when the ball is thrown.

Good work! dont get discouraged!

Thanks Alot
Now that's what I was looking for =)

I was thinking the slowdown with the fireall was giving the viewer time to breath, but seeing you both say the same thing,
i'll speed it up thanks =)

and the impact is something i'm still working on
this is the first time i've animated character's fight so thanks again for the pointers

the game will be released in beta v0.02 form
in the new year with a 680x280 version of the animation
will post a link once it's up.

Thanks
Merlin & Dirk_P_Ho

( my wife doesn't like the pen & ink thing too Dirk_P_Ho..hehe =)

Nice work! I'm guessing the kid's power was inpired by Dragon Ball Z? I noticed the wallpaper in the background. Besides what has already been said, I think some more camera angle shots would really benefit the animation. Maybe a few close up shots, especially when he uses his powers (transformation and fireball scenes). Show him struggling a bit more with the battle maybe (is that intentional? Not sure what the game is about so cant be sure...) I think you could do a better job of showing the impact of each attack, as well as when the boy takes off into the air; he doesn't ever make a slight jumping motion or anything like that. Lastly, I noticed you used lensflares for the impacts of the boy's punches and kicks--it would probably be best to replace these with some sparks or something; lensflares sort of cheapen the animation...

Looking forward to seeing your progress!

One last thing--at the end, the menuvering begins to get more complicated, but there aren't any strong signs of torsion and twisting in the character's bodies. Especially when he throws the robot (maybe he could take one complete spin first, and then throw him?)

Oh yeah, the part where the robot fires his blue beam: what happened to the boy? That part really confused me...

Awesome work,
Mickeloviche

Yes someone saw it !!

Yes i'm a huge DragonBall Z fan
and this is a mix of DBZ and Cavin & Hobbes

the robot shot the blue lazer in one scene
and in the next scene the boy nearly gets his balls shot off !

i really didn't think this was hard to see,
but now I can understand why the confussion.

i'll add a camera pan in too get the boy in shot to make it work better =)

Thanks Mickeloviche:thumbsup:

well, if you want action in this little anim, then first of all I would get some better music for it.
I also think some of the effects isn't convincing enough for me to say "WOAW!", if yo know what I mean. Try to make them more dramatic.

Sorry for my poor criting.
