View Full Version : Making a nice smooth rounded 8!
emdiesse 04-10-2006, 02:23 PM I am attempting something that probably should be simple.
I want to make a nice smooth rounded 8 using the torus's
I have got two torus one above another like the first attachment
I would like to make them into a smooth 8 as demonstrated in the second
finally I would like to know how to get rid of the highlighted bits in the third attachment.
Thanks, Emdiesse

maybe not the best way but metaballs work.
I used 2 circle primitive splines here.

Why not try to do it with a text spline and a number 8? Then into a hyperNURBS object?

To JoelD: Thanks for the help :D
To Ajomo: I am kinda hoping to expland it more thats why I don't want to use the number 8.
Thank you for the replies :D

When I do models like that and I set them transparent, that happens. If you boolean them, with A Union B, what that does is sort of joining them, and it will get rid of that. Maybe that will work?

Union boolean with a lower resolution torus hide edges, high quality, and single object (very important) throw in a HN and done
