Title: Tool | Lateralus | 01
Name: Jonathan Kemp
Country: Canada
Software: Photoshop

This one was made for a photography class where we had to create a CD cover artwork for Tool's Lateralus album. It's part 1 of a 5 shots serie. The whole thing was built by myself, using old rusted metal parts, and lighted with some christmas lights. The character is actually about 10 inches high.

I need a therapist, I was about to scream 'great rendering skills'! :scream:

I love the mood and colours though, and the obvious advantage of dirty textures really jumps out in this picture! Great work. :)

very nice blending, but as a huge tool fan i don't see this image as well representing lateralus, it's more of an undertow type.
Nice work though. ;)

Thanks guys !

Seifosid, you're right about the fact that this looks a bit more like the Undertow era, but eh, I was just inspired by Tool, not trying to reproduce the whole Adam Jones experience... :)

That said, Lateralus refers more to the song Lateralus than to the whole album. I'll post the other shot of the serie soon...

Thanks again people for commenting my work.

Jonathan

haha. my god this is a weird post. I do speak french, but you appenrently don't. anyway, from what I could understand, I think you are wondering how I made this rusty look. Well, the whole thing being made out of rusted metal pieces, I didn't have to do a lot of thing. I just kept the lighting very warm and yellow, and I sprayed water on the background just before I shot the photo.
